To organize and strengthen communities for establishing a community based integrated mechanism to provide a protective and caring environment for children.
Every five minutes a child dies from violence. Around the world a staggering 1.7 billion children experience violence every single year. In every country and culture, children are facing abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. Violations include sexual exploitation and abuse, trafficking, physical and humiliating punishment, harmful traditional practices such as early marriage and female genital mutilation/cutting and recruitment into armed forces and groups. Every child has the right to be safe. We can deliver on the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals, a world where every child grows up free from violence and exploitation. BB works to ensure that violence against children is no longer tolerated.
We work with children, families, communities and societies to put in place laws, policies and services to support children, and promote social norm and attitude changes. We work to prevent and respond to all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence affecting children. In future, BB will conduct a mapping and assessment exercise on child protection in respective districts to assess the key risks facing children, the capacity of current structures, and the legal framework/policy agenda relevant to child protection. On the basis of assessment BB will develop the child protection strategy/plan for future services, engagement and coordination of key players and financial and human resources required to strengthen child protection.
