Overall goal

  • To contribute Millennium Development Goal -1 Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger

Objective

  • To develop the capacity, opportunities, assets and productivity of community members to reduce their vulnerability to shocks, improve their livelihoods initiatives and strengthen their business operations.
  • To build up their savings capacity and proficiency in funds management through internal lending
  • To develop linkages with private, public sector and civil society to bring sustainability in the livelihood of people especially ultra poor.

Objectives

  • The primary objective is to helping the poor, landless and asset less in order to enable them to gain access to resources for their productive self employment and to encourage them to undertake activities of income generation and poverty alleviation, about sustainable improvements in their lives.
  • To ensure inclusive growth of the rural poor and enhancing opportunities for them employment and business Institutional Building and Social Empowerment

COMMUNITY LIVELIHOOD FUND

Provision of Livestock (Goats/Sheep) to poorest of the poor for their sustain income

Rearing of livestock is the largest income generation activity of district Tharparkar and it also adds status and prestige to the owners and makes major contribution to their diet as well. It is an integral part of the socioeconomic activities of district Tharparkar. Almost all rural households have one or more of these animals. Livestock is a source of food (milk and meat) and cash returns to buy food and other household items. Goats are a very valuable resource of income for vulnerable and poor households, in the time of a crisis.

Objectives:

  • Promote livestock rearing for income generation at household level
  • Increase milk and meat production for income generation of individuals
  • Vaccinate livestock to decrease diseases prevalence and incidence
  • Develop small livestock farms for income generation and food security
